In October of 2015 I went to Greece and Turkey to cover the refugee crisis for AlJazeera.com - I focused on the Hazara people from Afghanistan and Pakistan, who are especially persecuted by local authorities and the so-called Islamic State because of their Asian appearance and Shi'a faith.
